The situation

A growing eCommerce brand selling through Shopify and Amazon across the US, UK, Australia, and Singapore. Payouts arrived in four currencies, marketplace fees were buried inside settlements, and inventory numbers lived in spreadsheets that never quite matched the accounting system.

The owner knew revenue was growing but couldn't say which channel — or which currency — was actually making money.

The challenge

  • Shopify and Amazon settlements mixing sales, fees, refunds, and taxes into single payouts.
  • Multi-currency transactions needing consistent conversion and revaluation.
  • Inventory on hand not reconciled against cost of goods sold.
  • Margins per channel completely invisible.

Our approach

We implemented A2X to break every marketplace settlement into its proper components — gross sales, fees, refunds, and taxes — posted cleanly into Xero with correct currency handling.

Then we rebuilt the inventory process: regular reconciliations between the sales channels and the accounting system, so COGS and stock valuations reflected reality instead of estimates.

The result

  • Accurate, automated settlement posting — hours of manual work eliminated every week.
  • True per-channel profitability reporting for the first time.
  • Inventory variances caught monthly instead of at year-end.
  • Confident pricing decisions backed by real margin data per market.

In their words

With clean numbers per channel, the seller shifted ad spend toward their two most profitable markets and renegotiated supplier terms using actual landed-cost data — decisions that simply weren't possible before.
